Technology Introduction:
The "two-step nano-splitting method"is a surfactant-free technique for synthesizing ultra-small (sub-10-50 nm) polymer nanoparticles. Originally developed for OLEDs to enable low-cost multi-layer coating, it leverages spontaneous droplet nano-splitting of O/W emulsions. This universal, additive-free method yields stable, pure nanoparticles applicable to various polymers and broader nanomaterial applications.
Industry Applicability:
Our "two-step nano-splitting method,"initially developed for OLEDs, is now being applied to broader fields to build a business foundation. Potential applications include: 1) foods and supplements, where soap-free nanoparticles improve active ingredient absorption; 2) drugs and cosmetics, which require small particles for delivery and nanoemulsions; and 3) electronics, such as Li-ion batteries and odor sensors.
