Feast on over 300 advanced technologies as Taiwan Innotech Expo offers a synchronized virtual and physical experience.

2021-10-14

The "2021 Taiwan Innotech Expo" opened grandly today (October 14), featuring an unprecedented integration of both physical and virtual exhibitions. The three main theme pavilions are simultaneously hosting offline and online displays. Among them, the "Innovation Navigation Pavilion" focuses on innovative technologies that can be applied to industries within five years. In addition to technology demonstrations, it also brings together rich and exciting content such as international forums and technology presentations, leading everyone to participate in this century's technological feast with over 300 innovative technologies. Visitors can attend the physical exhibition at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 for three days (October 14-16) and also browse the online exhibition for ten days (October 14-23).

As the local epidemic situation eases, the organizers have decided to make a strong return of the physical exhibition. The Industrial Development Bureau will present 45 innovative technologies, and there are many creative highlights online. Upon entering the official page of Taiwan Innotech Expo, the main visual design of "TIE" in silver and white is immediately visible, creating a futuristic atmosphere for the online base. To emphasize the focus on trends in intelligence, digitalization, and transformation, the "Innovation Navigation Pavilion" adopts technological lines and compositions such as robotic arms, keys, clouds, and cutting-edge fighter jets, highlighting concepts in various technology fields such as global intelligent manufacturing, decoding technology treasures, digital transformation, intelligent living, advanced medical care, and national defense aerospace.

The interface of the online exhibition is very intuitive and simple. After logging in as a member, visitors will immediately see the dropdown buttons for the virtual pavilion, technology forums, technology presentations, and technology highlights. Visitors can watch a large number of professional technology videos from there. The three main theme pavilions including the Innovation Navigation Pavilion also have dedicated video walls, where visitors can freely indulge in a collection of creative technology videos.

In the Innovation Navigation Pavilion, the Industrial Development Bureau has organized three exciting technology presentation matchmaking meetings. On the opening day, the theme is "Smart Innovation," exploring "Building a Resilient Industrial Ecosystem with Smart Technology." As for the matchmaking meetings for "Zero-Contact Epidemic Prevention" and "Green Manufacturing," they will be held on October 19 and 22 respectively. The day after the opening (October 15), the highly anticipated Innovative Technology Forum will take the spotlight, including domestic and foreign intellectual property experts from companies such as TSMC and MediaTek, decoding the new economy of 5G.

After the physical exhibition ends, the online exhibition forum activities will continue, including the Small and Medium Enterprises International Business Opportunities Matchmaking Meeting organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade on October 19, and the 8th Technology Innovation Strategy Partner Meeting led by the Department of Technological Innovation on October 21. In this meeting, research leaders from five Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, will discuss post-pandemic technological development with domestic and international industry, government, academia, research, and expert representatives, and initiate exchanges between Southeast Asia and Taiwan on emerging post-pandemic technologies.

The Industrial Development Bureau, the Department of Technological Innovation, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, the National Development Council, and the Ministry of National Defense, among other departments, have all spared no effort in the Innovation Navigation Pavilion, showcasing innovative technologies covering six major technology fields: intelligent manufacturing, digital transformation, intelligent living, advanced medical care, national defense aerospace, and decoding technology treasures. The Industrial Development Bureau and Taiwan Intelligent Robot Technology jointly showcase the substation inspection robot, while the Ministry of National Defense and the Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology jointly exhibit the field-type exoskeleton, which are representative works in the "Digital Transformation" and "National Defense Aerospace" fields, respectively.

In the fields of "Intelligent Manufacturing," "Advanced Medical Care," and "Intelligent Living," the Central Enterprise Bureau recommends the AxRobot EtherCAT seven-axis power-assisted control robotic arm from AsiaInfo Electronics, and the Department of Technological Innovation seizes industry trends, showcasing hot technology achievements in unmanned vehicles, solid-state batteries, low-orbit satellites, biopharmaceuticals, smart medical care, and more. For example, the "Smart Orthopedic Surgery Assistance System," which uses "satellite navigation" to precisely locate the surgical position for doctors, is a technology solution provided to industries to seize the global market.

The National Development Council recommends Swipe from Instant Movid, the perfect app for your online dance classes; the 5G enterprise network solution from CloudMile Technology; the Rogy 360-degree 6-lens camera for livestreaming from Darflow Corporation; the smart observation service for elderly care from Yuen Chen Electronics; and the multifunctional unmanned boat from Cheng Hsin International, all of which showcase the ambitious goals of various departments and the industry and research sectors to strategically cultivate strategic markets.

The Industrial Development Bureau has called on 14 representative medium-sized enterprises selected by the Ministry of Economic Affairs to showcase their latest products and services at the physical exhibition. These include Dayang Technology, the first local company with vacuum technology listed on the stock market. It is showcasing the IoT solution for semiconductor equipment status monitoring and the smart exhaust gas monitoring system. JiaDeng Precision from Southern Taiwan is showcasing the EUV extreme ultraviolet mask transmission box for semiconductor EUV lithography. Dafooro is also showcasing its AXILE intelligent five-axis machining center that can be integrated into smart production factory systems to ensure 24/7 automatic operation and avoid unexpected shutdowns.

The Department of Technological Innovation selected 13 legal person startup teams and exhibited 8 scientific and technological achievements from the science and technology innovation incubation program. AIdea from ITRI is showcasing the "Artificial Intelligence Problem-Solving Platform," which establishes a mechanism of "industry raising questions, talents solving problems" through crowdsourcing problem-solving methods, helping companies quickly find the best solutions. In the popular low-orbit satellite field, the Lin Hai Star startup team is exhibiting a ground signal receiving platform that can access different low-orbit satellite networks, establishing independent communication satellite technology capabilities and enhancing Taiwan's space communication technology development, driving industry growth. In the field of biopharmaceuticals, CHO-C is showcased as Asia's first self-owned brand for protein mass production platforms, providing customers with high-yield, high stability, and localized cell line development and mass production services to accelerate pre-clinical new drug development.
