Gathering the most comprehensive scientific research energy, Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE) brings together a total of 444 domestic and international companies this year. In addition to the Industrial Development Bureau showcasing 45 technologies in the "Innovation Navigation Pavilion," a total of over 1,300 innovative inventions and advanced technologies are presented. The exhibition, which began both physically and online on the 14th, allows the cutting-edge technological achievements to be presented across time zones and regions.
This edition of TIE is divided into three major thematic halls: "Innovation Navigation Pavilion," "Future Technology Pavilion," and "Sustainable Development Pavilion." The "Innovation Navigation Pavilion" encompasses over 300 technologies. The 14 enterprise partners collaborated by the Industrial Development Bureau have brought new products and services in five major domains including smart manufacturing, digital transformation, smart living, aerospace and defense, and advanced medical technology, adding vibrancy to the thematic halls.
Currently, environmental protection and electric vehicles are hot topics, and the importance of batteries is undeniable. However, most conventional vehicle batteries use lead-acid batteries, and improperly processed discarded batteries can cause significant environmental damage. EzBPower, exhibited by Tianyang Technology, is a permanent battery system equipped with supercapacitors that can extend battery life by more than 10 times and reduce fuel consumption by 5-20%. It's an excellent technology for electric vehicles before their comprehensive adoption.
With the advancement of rocket launch technology and cost reduction, coupled with the soaring global demand for the internet, low-orbit satellite concept stocks have begun to rise, and Taiwan is actively forming its own space team. LingYen Technology's millimeter-wave antenna-in-package (AIP) technology can create key array antenna modules needed for 5G, low-orbit satellites, and millimeter-wave base stations, demonstrating forward-looking capabilities.
In addition, as the pandemic situation continues to change, considerations such as changes in epidemic alert levels and how to manage human flow in various areas are top priorities for the government. The radar-based crowd flow analysis system developed by ITRI and Verisys boasts an accuracy rate of over 90% and has been deployed in Keelung Night Market. Apart from being an epidemic prevention tool, it can also be extended to applications such as event attendance statistics and interactive technology.
In addition to the highlighted technologies mentioned above, the Industrial Development Bureau also organized technology presentation matchmaking sessions on "Smart Innovation," "Contactless Epidemic Prevention," and "Green Manufacturing," providing niches for entering the new normal market.
In order to align with the international arena, this edition of TIE also features an online exhibition with interfaces in both Chinese and English. With online appointment scheduling for business negotiations and the option to arrange time slots for technology presentations, users need to register and log in to use the platform. Upon entering the main interface, visitors are greeted by the grand hall containing the "Innovation Navigation Pavilion," "Future Technology Pavilion," "Sustainable Development Pavilion," and the "Invention Competition Area."
At each exhibitor's booth, aside from being able to view products in 360 degrees, there are introduction videos available for a quick understanding of the content. Furthermore, there is a separate 3D exhibition area on the left side of the online exhibition hall, allowing visitors to get a complete view of many innovative technologies through the internet! For example, we can see the outdoor inspection robot "QuaLi" built by Taiwan Power Company and Taiwan Intelligent Robot Technology, showcasing its details through the ability to zoom in, rotate, and exhibit from all angles. The most powerful feature of "QuaLi" is its outdoor all-terrain mobile platform, infrared/visible light dual-image sensing module, and AI algorithms that learn map information. It can be used for autonomous patrols in areas such as power plants and chemical plants, significantly enhancing efficiency and safety. Other technologies such as solar cells, smart helmets, and autonomous buses can also be explored in the 3D exhibition area.
