The 2020 Taiwan Innotech Expo will be held from September 24th to September 26th at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. This year, it brings together resources from 10 government departments, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Labor, Council of Agriculture, National Development Council, Environmental Protection Administration, and Academia Sinica. With the theme "Resilient Taiwan, Smart Future," it constructs three major theme pavilions: "Innovation Navigation Pavilion," "Future Technology Pavilion," and "Sustainable Development Pavilion." The event will showcase over 1,000 innovative technologies, demonstrating Taiwan's abundant research and development capabilities in the fields of industry, government, academia, and research. With a rich and diverse trading hub platform, combined with local innovation dynamics and regional advantages, it will connect with regions such as the New Southbound and Europe, the US, and Japan, playing the role of "International R&D Trading Hub (IP HUB)" to promote Taiwan's technology internationally and consistently showcase Taiwan's intellectual value.
Innovation Navigation Pavilion: Embracing the Hyper Digitization Era
The "Innovation Navigation Pavilion," which focuses on innovative technologies that can be applied to industries within five years, is divided into four main thematic zones: "Ultra-Automation," "Full IoT," "Crossing Virtual and Reality," and "New Healthcare." It exhibits 105 innovative technologies. Each thematic zone is also complemented by the highlight presentations of "National Defense Industry Ecosystem," "Disaster Prevention Solutions Ecosystem," "Future Mobility Special Zone," and "Tech Pandemic Special Zone." The "National Defense Industry Ecosystem" showcases the "Liquid Disruptor Device and Explosive Disposal Robot," which applies the concept of smart robots to military security operations, combining reconnaissance, mobility, and obstacle clearance in one machine to enhance the safety of various anti-terrorism missions. The "Disaster Prevention Solutions Ecosystem" focuses on Disaster Prevention 4.0, providing more timely and efficient disaster prevention solutions through IoT and AI frameworks, given extreme climates, overdevelopment, and high urbanization. In the area of global pandemic prevention technology, the "Tech Pandemic Special Zone" within the Innovation Navigation Pavilion will showcase cutting-edge protective clothing technology to safeguard frontline healthcare workers, embodying the spirit of "Taiwan Helps."
Sustainable Development Pavilion: Exploring the Human Future
In the Sustainable Development Pavilion, research achievements that can sustainably achieve a better living environment within the next 20 years are showcased. These achievements, developed based on the principles of Redesign, Recovery, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, are connected to form the "Circular Economy Technology Ecosystem." The pavilion focuses on four major themes: "New Agriculture," "Green Energy Technology," "Circular Economy," and "Safe Workplace." These themes are further integrated into the "Green Industry Chain Highlight Zone," centered around "Sustainable Life," "Sustainable Energy," and "Sustainable Resources." Noteworthy exhibits include the integration of agriculture and aquaculture with green energy technology, on-site environmental and physiological monitoring technology for safeguarding workers' conditions, smart grids, innovative business models for fully recyclable packaging in online shopping, and recyclable material package+recycling box technologies. These exhibits showcase Taiwan's abundant energy in sustainable development. Additionally, the pavilion integrates European agricultural and livestock industry displays with domestic technology and experience sharing, expanding through conferences and discussions to jointly market and develop global markets, achieving synergy that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Future Technology Pavilion: Unveiling a New Research World
Technological development is closely related to human future lives. The development of any new technology can potentially be a decisive factor in changing human life, similar to the internet, personal computers, and smartphones. These technologies not only changed human lifestyles and industrial development but also shaped a world that was previously unimaginable. This year, the Ministry of Science and Technology has integrated resources from three years of "Future Tech Show" to jointly create the "Future Technology Pavilion" with top academic research institutions such as Academia Sinica, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The pavilion focuses on precision health, AI and AIoT, electronics and optoelectronics, novel materials, and other application areas, showcasing research and technology that will lead future development trends over the next 3-10 years. Highlight technologies include "3D Point Cloud Visual Object Guidance and Rapid Capture Point Detection Network" and "Food Safety and Pandemic Rapid Screening Smart Network Detection System," aiming to demonstrate Taiwan's forward-looking technological advantages and innovative industrial applications.
International Pavilion: Pioneering a New Landscape for Cross-National Exhibitions
Amid the global impact of the pandemic, many large-scale exhibitions around the world have been postponed or canceled. However, this year's Innotech Expo has created a different scenario. In terms of international participation, a total of 69 companies from 18 countries will exhibit, including Corning, Cisco, Microsoft, Siemens from the US and Germany, Kostec from Germany, Lely from the Netherlands, Logitech from Switzerland, NSTDA from Thailand, and Nissan from Japan. These companies will showcase technologies and solutions related to information security, Industry 4.0, robotics, biotechnology, energy, and agriculture through physical or online presentations. During the exhibition, three remote technology presentations will also be held, allowing international exhibitors who cannot travel to Taiwan to communicate with Taiwanese companies and the public.
Innovative Technology Forum
To assist industries in realizing the value of technology, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology will jointly hold the Innovative Technology Forum with a focus on intellectual property and business strategy, as well as emerging technologies. The morning session will feature the IPBC Taiwan International Forum, with themes on "The Value of Intangible Assets" and "Technology Collaboration and Transfer," inviting international experts in the field of intellectual property to share global IP business strategies online, which will be broadcast simultaneously at the stage area of Hall 1C. The afternoon session will focus on the theme of "Deploying a New Future for the 6G Industry," sharing trends in emerging technology development to accelerate innovation in industry applications.
