In the post-pandemic era, global economic and trade landscapes are undergoing reorganization. Issues related to "technological epidemic prevention" and the "contactless economy" have emerged. The largest domestic research and development achievement exhibition spanning multiple technological domains, the "2020 Taiwan Innotech Expo," is set to take place grandly from September 24 to 26 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. This year, more than 10 government departments and over 40 international organizations and enterprises will participate, showcasing over a thousand patented technologies. Since its transformation in 2018, the "Taiwan Innotech Expo" aims to use Taiwan's research capabilities and geographical advantages to become a technological bridge between the new Southbound policy and countries in Europe, America, and Japan. The goal is to promote Taiwan as an "International Research and Development Transaction Hub" (IP HUB). With the concerted efforts of government departments, this year's event will see the joint participation of 10 government units, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Labor, Council of Agriculture, National Development Council, Environmental Protection Administration, and Academia Sinica. More than 40 international organizations and companies from Europe, America, Japan, and the new Southbound policy countries, including Microsoft, CISCO, Siemens, Corning, Logitech, and Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), will also participate. They will collectively create three major thematic halls: "Innovative Navigation," "Future Technology," and "Sustainable Development." Additionally, there will be special sections focusing on technological areas such as technology epidemic prevention, disaster prevention solutions, digital services, precision health, and green industrial chains. It is expected that over a thousand patented technologies and applications will be showcased.
In addition to the interdisciplinary exhibition of innovative technologies from both domestic and international sources, there will be various international innovation technology forums, business matchmaking meetings, and seminars held during the expo. In response to the pandemic, the International Innovation Technology Forum will be conducted both online and in-person.
