This year's "Taiwan Innotech Expo - Future Technology Pavilion," focused on the concept of "technological futurism" and the imagery of "technology voices and shadows," seamlessly integrated into the spatial atmosphere, visual and interactive experience planning, and related display designs. The pavilion's overall presentation strategy and style depicted ideas and propositions for the future development and application of technology. The "Future Technology Pavilion" was a collaboration between the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Department of Industrial Technology, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, the National Development Council, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Environmental Protection Administration. It showcased smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, digital services, intelligent transportation, defense industries, and more, presenting a total of 100 innovative technologies/patent achievements. Throughout the exhibition period from September 26 to September 28, the entire "Taiwan Innotech Expo" attracted over 45,000 visitors.
In addition to the visually appealing exhibition design, the innovative technology achievements showcased in the Future Technology Pavilion also generated numerous collaboration opportunities during the exhibition period. Many participating institutions are currently in discussions with potential technology users to explore future collaboration plans. This year's TIE also collaborated with several intellectual property service providers to offer value-added services. These services were not only available at the IP and technology trading consultation area during the exhibition but also recommended institutions with technology trading needs to participate in TIE for technology demonstrations and presentations. One of the IP service providers, "Fachin International Patent and Trademark Office," recommended two technologies for exhibition at the Future Technology Pavilion and provided value-added IP services. This initiative successfully facilitated technology collaboration.
"Fachin" not only assists clients in obtaining domestic and international patent rights and trademarks but also collaborates with top domestic and foreign law firms specializing in intellectual property rights. They provide services such as competitor patent layout analysis, patent maps, intangible asset (patent, trademark) valuation, patent/trademark infringement identification, and patent/trademark litigation. Additionally, they help companies apply for government subsidies or guide project proposals related to intellectual property. This year, "Fachin" recommended two technologies for exhibition—one related to computer peripheral device technology. They assisted the technology supplier in patent layout, analyzing potential licensing targets, negotiating technology licensing agreements, and eventually closing deals. This effort successfully licensed the technology to a major industry player, creating cooperation opportunities and potentially entering the international brand supply chain. In another case, "Fachin" also assisted a technology supplier in the energy-saving technology field, devising technology licensing plans and completing agreements. The subsequent collaboration between the technology supplier and the demand side resulted in a series of energy-saving technology development projects, contributing to the environmental protection industry's efforts in energy conservation.
Through Taiwan Innotech Expo's showcase of domestic and international innovative technologies and its collaboration with IP experts to promote patent technology, barriers to open innovation for businesses can be lowered. Companies can seek external patent technology resources to shorten the development time of innovative products or directly apply relevant technologies to reduce costs. Small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in innovation and research can create collaboration opportunities with large enterprises through technology cooperation or licensing. It is believed that through the mechanisms promoted by TIE and exhibition-related technology collaboration, the development of Taiwan's industrial technology cooperation and IP consulting industry can be continuously driven forward.
