The Industrial Development Bureau organizes the "Future Technology Pavilion" to showcase cross-departmental innovative research and development achievements.
Under the support of Commissioner Wu Jung-chung, the "Taiwan Innotech Expo - Future Technology Pavilion" coordinated by the Industrial Development Bureau made its debut at the Taipei World Trade Center on September 26, 2019. Focused on the 5+2 industries' innovative technology, the expo brought together five units including the Industrial Development Bureau, the Technology Department, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, the Ministry of National Defense, and the National Development Council, as well as 20 international organizations such as Fraunhofer, Nissan, and Microsoft. The event showcased three major themes: smart cities, smart manufacturing, digital services, as well as the "Future Mobility" and "Defense Industry" ecological scenarios, presenting 100 cutting-edge innovative technologies. This exhibition demonstrated the application of innovative technology supported by government industrial policies and showcased the latest international forward-looking technology. On the first day, nearly 5000 visitors attended, marking a significant achievement.
The "Future Technology Pavilion" brings together smart technology from five departments' academia, industry, and research units. It screens technology application solutions with potential for cooperation or technical exchange opportunities, designs technology ecosystem scenarios, and interactive technology experiences. The goal is to facilitate the circulation and application of technology. Under this premise, the "Future Technology Pavilion" invited 17 research entities and 60 domestic companies to exhibit over a hundred pieces of domestically developed technology and products. Through a systematic and dynamic display approach, it creates the appearance of a smart city, information stations, and smart factories. In response to the government's 5+2 industrial innovation policy, a special "Defense Industry Scenario Zone" was set up to showcase aerospace defense, naval shipbuilding, and military-civilian dual-use technologies, presenting the innovative technology research and development achievements of the defense industry in a comprehensive manner. It is hoped that through this exhibition, businesses can develop civilian and commercial technologies, promote international cooperation, and rapidly enter the international aerospace and defense system and components market opportunities. Furthermore, the pavilion also designed the "Future Mobility Ecology," systematically showcasing self-driving car and car communication-related technologies. Additionally, interactive multimedia technology and facial recognition technology were incorporated into the exhibition area to create a smart service area that combines testing and verification with technology experience. These institutions cover various technology fields such as automotive, chemical, energy, medical, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Among them, Nissan, aligned with the expo's focus on "smart technology," brought related technologies involving self-driving cars and robots. The goal is for Taiwan to serve as a bridge for technology exchange between Southeast Asia and advanced countries, becoming an international hub for the circulation of research and development achievements.
At this year's exhibition, in addition to designing a comfortable negotiation space in the business area, more than 20 professional guided negotiation activities were planned over the three-day exhibition period. This includes various theme technology tours such as smart cities, intelligent robots, and digital healthcare, as well as customized tours for domestic and foreign VIPs and business groups. If you identify potential collaboration during the tours, you can engage in business exchanges in the business area. Furthermore, this year's expo also connects with many intellectual property entities registered as eligible by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. An intellectual property and technology transaction consultation area is set up in the business area, arranging intellectual property entities to provide various types of professional consulting services, such as intellectual property management, value addition, evaluation, and matchmaking transactions. Through this, it catalyzes exchanges between intellectual property entities and various sectors of academia, industry, and research domestically and internationally, striving to establish the Taiwan Innotech Expo as an international cross-disciplinary technology trading hub.
