2018 Taiwan Innotech Expo: Unveiling Technological Innovation and Futuristic Inventions, Unlocking Boundless Entrepreneurial Potential

2018-11-01

To expand the assistance provided by technological innovation and forward-looking inventions to Taiwan's entrepreneurial endeavors, the government has integrated various departments to organize the "Taiwan Innotech Expo." This expo focuses on entrepreneurial topics, inviting 42 startups from both domestic and international scenes to participate. Additionally, 12 innovative exhibits recommended by government departments will be presented to accelerators. With a whopping 54 innovative technologies on display, this event aids entrepreneurs in finding inspiration and direction, while helping investors discover valuable technologies and targets.

Starting a company is easy, but achieving success in entrepreneurship is quite challenging. At the outset, having a strong entrepreneurial idea and theme is essential for higher chances of success. However, generating ideas and setting themes can be difficult. Exploring innovative technologies and intelligent applications from various sources is crucial to finding suitable entrepreneurial directions that meet market demands. By attending the "Taiwan Innotech Expo," held from September 27th to 29th in 2018, you can witness a multitude of innovative technologies from dozens of countries worldwide. This immersive experience can help you discover new technologies and generate innovative ideas, igniting the sparks of entrepreneurship.

Four Major Entrepreneurial Highlights — Exploring Novel Innovations

Stepping into the "Taiwan Innotech Expo," you'll encounter innovative technologies such as "InSeed Probiotic Products," "Anti-Snoring Dental Appliance Treatment Evaluation System," "Chatbots," "Smart Helmets," "Intelligent Robots," "Handheld Infectious Disease Molecular Real-time Detection System," "Non-Invasive Fiber Optic Physiological Monitoring Technology and Intelligent Care System," and "Novel Drug Development for Diabetes Reversal." These innovations cover four major fields: Smart Living, Digital Services, Bio-Medical Healthcare, and Smart Manufacturing. By showcasing these innovations, the event transforms entrepreneurial creativity into new business models and innovative concepts.

Innovative Technology 1: "Digital Services" Enhancing Industry Transformation

One example is the innovative chatbot design platform "CHATISFY" by Factronics, which facilitates direct and rapid communication between businesses and customers. Users can customize the platform according to their brand identity without the need for coding, thereby creating a unique sales experience. Another is AiDent's "ID Water - Water Quality Monitoring Device," a highly efficient IoT water quality monitoring system. This system enables aquaculture farmers to monitor pond water quality in real time, allowing them to make informed decisions promptly.

Innovative Technology 2: "Smart Living" Making the World Better

Created by startup JARVISH, the "Smart Helmet" features functions such as smart taillights, automatic file recording, emergency incident automatic record retention, and more. It received the Nuremberg Invention Award Social Group Silver Award in 2015 and investment from Hon Hai's kick2real entrepreneurship platform, positioning it as a rising star in the wearable IoT field. Laboratik, an international company in the Innovative Inventions section, has developed an intelligent robot "A" that utilizes AI to analyze chat conversations in real time. This assists distributed workplace teams in fully understanding each other's progress, fostering optimal teamwork and engagement. Additionally, Green Jade's "Indoor Positioning Method and System with Indoor Map Construction Device" offers enhanced interaction opportunities between businesses and indoor spaces, shaping a new retail era of consumer-centric needs in the age of mixed reality interactions.

Innovative Technology 3: "Bio-Medical Healthcare" High Potential for Forward-Looking Technological Solutions

Innovated by YFY Biotech Management Company, the "Plant Lactobacillus Plantarum Subspecies Strain PS128" prevents or treats gastrointestinal disorders caused by stress. The Central Research Institute has developed a "New Drug for Diabetes Reversal," holding the potential for future development of health foods and new drugs to treat or reverse diabetes, offering significant development prospects. Additionally, ITRI's "Handheld Infectious Disease Real-Time Molecular Detection System" provides qualitative results within as little as 30 minutes. Combined with reagent development, it can be used for diagnosing infectious diseases like viruses or bacteria, potentially contributing to human healthcare and well-being.

Innovative Technology 4: "Smart Manufacturing" Accelerating Industry Towards Industry 4.0

In the realm of smart manufacturing, the "Ultrasonic Spray Technology" developed by Precision Machinery Research & Development Center boasts advantages such as high material utilization and uniform membrane surface. Its application in precision optical film manufacturing industries, including self-cleaning glass, anti-fog glass, anti-UV film, electrode film, anti-reflective coatings, and more, enhances industrial added value. "Robot Communication Intelligent Set-Top Box" by Chongbo connects industrial robots to control systems, enabling independent robots to upload operational information and advancing the progression of smart manufacturing.

Furthermore, to facilitate interaction and communication between startups and investors during the exhibition, and to deeply connect international startup institutions with Taiwan, the organizers have arranged for TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) to participate in the "Startup Investment and Matchmaking Forum" and "Group Tours" on the second day of the expo. On the third day, TIE international institutions are invited to participate in a visit to the GEC+ Taipei Linkou Innovation Park.
