FS8A/B Remote Sensing Instrument(RSI) Optical System Assembly (OSA)

Technology Introduction:
The Optical System Assembly (OSA) in the FORMOSAT-8A optical remote sensing instrument is equipped with a high-resolution Ritchey–Chretien optical system with 396mm aperture and 3927mm effective focal length. This system can capture high-resolution images with ground sampling distance of 1.0 meter, using a 7μm pixel-size image sensor while orbiting at an altitude of 561km (0.7m GSD with post image processing).
Industry Applicability:
Based on the technologies developed from the FS8A/B RSI OSA, it can be made available for the development of small-space optical systems in the optical industry.

These sectors are respectively responsible for the implementation of space affairs, satellite and rocket technology research and development, national space program execution, and space technology and space industry promotion.
