To address the increasing complexity and aging of aircraft, railways, and buildings, Professor Ming-An Chung’s team at National Taipei University of Technology developed a Sub-Terahertz radar system. Combining Sub-THz frequencies, MIMO architecture, and AI imaging, it delivers high-resolution, deep-penetrating, dynamic NDT. Scans complete in just 30 seconds with 5μm depth resolution, greatly improving inspection efficiency and safety.
Industry Applicability:
This Sub-terahertz radar technology, combined with AI imaging, enables non-contact, high-resolution, and deep-penetration inspection. Ideal for aviation, metro, and infrastructure sectors, it can halve inspection time for many Airlines and unlock a potential USD 5.44 million market. With applications extending to bridges, wind energy, and defense, the technology will be commercialized through hardware sales and cloud-based platform licensing, driving smart inspection at scale.
