Shipboard Personnel Overboard Monitoring System
Technology Overview:
"The system can be configured on a vessel and includes a micro wireless radio-frequency (RF) beacon transmitter, which is bound to an operator and attached to the operator’s body to actively broadcast an RF beacon. And a plurality of RF beacon receivers, which are externally connected to the ship’s main control computer and distributed throughout the vessel to receive the RF beacon.
The man-overboard management software is equipped with a detection mechanism to determine whether the RF beacon signal strength continuously falls below a threshold. If the signal strength remains below the threshold, the software determines that a man-overboard event has occurred and executes an alert procedure."
Industrial Applications:
To be used on domestic coastal fishing vessels, enhancing and protecting fishermen’s operational safety.
