High-Pressure Gas Quenching and Vacuum Carburizing Heat Treatment Technology

Metal components are heated and held at a vacuum environment. During this holding period, acetylene (or ammonia gas simultaneously) is pulsed through the vacuum to perform carburizing (carbonitriding). The carburized (carbonitrided) components are then transferred to another vacuum chamber for rapid cooling with high-pressure nitrogen (20 bar) to complete the quenching process.
