Directional Pulse Descaling Technology
• Technological Innovation:Designed for downhole deployment, this device minimizes pulse energy attenuation and features repetitive pressure accumulation and release. By integrating a packer to restrict fluid movement in the target zone, pressure energy is focused and released radially around the wellbore for highly efficient descaling. Compared to traditional chemical descaling, this technology offers the advantages of being eco-friendly and low-pollution.
• Competitive or Intellectual Property Advantages:Due to the limitations of chemical descaling in domestic geothermal wells, physical methods are more suitable. ITRI has developed the directional pulse descaling technology, breaking through past limitations of only cleaning the wellbore interior to achieve descaling of both the screen slots and the surrounding wellbore area. Applied in drilling, hot springs, and geothermal power generation, this technology, when combined with mechanical well flushing, can significantly boost the production capacity recovery rate from 20% to over 75%.

Industrial Applications:
International geothermal well descaling is complex and expensive. Due to regional land and population constraints, traditional chemical methods are difficult to implement, making physical approaches more suitable. ITRI’s "Directional Pulse Descaling Technology" successfully breaks through past limitations of only cleaning the wellbore interior. It not only removes scale from casing screen slots but also extends cleaning to the surrounding wellbore formations.
