In Taiwan Water Corporation, the leak detection of water pipes relies on more than 90 leak detectors using traditional technology and deals with a length of 60,000 kilometers of water pipe leak detection.
Because of background noise and topographical restrictions, the leak detector could only detect leaks an average of about 2.5 kilometers a day. Therefore, it takes more than one year to detect water leakage, in order to improve the efficiency of leakage detection and save the waste of water resources. Thus, Taiwan Water Corporation cooperated with the Industrial Research Institute to establish an Artificial Intelligence leak detection system, developed and used a localized AI water leakage diagnosis instrument to capture live dynamic audio, and integrated the Internet of things technology to simultaneously perform leakage events identification and water leakage location.
