Characteristics of the polished rice from ‘Taitung 35’ and ‘Taitung 32’ are crystal-like appearance and taste pleasantly chewy after cooking. Besides, since these two varieties have resistance to lodging, shattering, and pre-harvest sprouting, it is believed that the farmers who grow these two varieties could reduce the impacts of continuous or torrential rain events and maintain the rice production and quality. The grain quality of the varieties is characteristic of good low-temperature storage that helps to extend the shelf life of their products. This technology includes the authorization of the two varieties, and the relative seed production, seed storage, seedling nursing, cultivation, harvest, and post-harvest processing procedures, by which the applicants can effectively manage the purity and quality of the products. In short, this technology will help the applicants to produce and commercialize the products from varieties ‘Taitung No. 35’ and ‘Taitung No. 32’ within one year.
