Artificial Ligament for Hard-Soft Tissue Repairing

ITRI has developed an artificial ligament designed to facilitate the repair of both hard and soft tissues. Our approach involves the integration of a composite material to enhance the fixation strength at the ligament-bone interface. Additionally, our technology incorporates surface treatments and a porous textile structure to promote cell growth and graft adhesion while providing protection against abrasion. Furthermore, the results of our animal study not only validate the stated performance enhancements but also demonstrate soft tissue ligamentization.

Features & Specifications:
・An artificial ligament can promote tissue integration and is strong enough for prosthesis.
・Soft tissue can grow onto the cladding graft to prevent abrasion of the artificial ligament. The resulting soft tissue ligamentization can further restore ligament function.
・Bone integration is enhanced to increase graft fixation strength.
