WiFi is not only used for data transmission but also for high-accuracy positioning now. ITRI uses WiFi CSI (channel state information) for achieving centimeter-granularity ultra-high precision positioning. CSI is the information of radio channel between the transmitter and receiver. It can be converted ToF (Time of Flight) and AoA (Angle of Arrival) that are used in ITRI’s positioning system. The accuracy of ITRI’s positioning technology is about 0.5 meter. It has been adopted by several companies and deployed in the several vertical fields, to provide positioning turnkey solution.
