Production management technology of TLRI K9 and TLRI K12 chicken strain cross
Yinsherb Group, which is working intensively on Hualien organic herbs, joined the head office of Livestock Research Institute, Council of Agriculture Executive Yuan in 2017. After eight years of research, Production Management Technology of TLRI K9 chicken and TLRI K12 chicken Strain Cross was adopted by Hualien Animal Propagation Station of Livestock Research Institute to instruct Yinsherb Group to cultivate Hualien’s unique new breed via chicken breeding genetic screening, brand development and breeding management. Officially named "Gaea Chicken" by Chairman Chi-Chung Chen of the Council of Agriculture Executive Yuan on March 17, 2021, the new chicken is a high-end meat product designated by the chefs of the star-rated resort hotel of Gaeavilla Resort. The highlight of Hualien’s livestock products has successfully been created with the extended value of new agricultural innovation demonstration benchmark!
"Gaea Chicken" is a technology transfer from Hualien Animal Propagation Station to Yinsherb, with the introduction of the stain cross production management technology of TLRI K9 chicken and TLRI K12 chicken. While the antibiotic-free and friendly and well-being breeding were adopted, the organic and non-toxic planted rosemary compound herb feed irrigated by Mount Qilai water in Yinsherb Farm and the vegan diet which is rich in protein content and formulated by Livestock Research Institute were employed throughout the raising process.
It takes only five to six months to raise such a chicken. Hualien Animal Propagation Station has confirmed that it is a local juicy chicken of the healthy concept with thin skin, delicious meat, low cholesterol, low fat and low calorie. Moreover, it has become a high-end meat product designated by the chefs of the star-rated resort hotel of Gaeavilla Resort in Hualien. The development of the chicken essence products of Gaea chicken series has been continued to provide tourists and consumers with healthy foods which have comprehensive nutrition and zero burden.
