Alltech E-CO2’s assessments utilise a 4-stage process:
1. The assessment itself-Before going on farm we provide the farmer with a PAF (pre-assessment form), this helps them to understand the data that we are going to ask them to collect so that they can better prepare. Once on farm we aim to break the assessment into 2 sections. The first section is a farm walk. This allows dialogue with the farmer to better understand the challenges and aims for the business. It also allows for us to see potential opportunities on farm that the farmer may not notice. The second section is the actual data collection via our custom software. This normally takes place in the farm office. The assessment template includes built-in validations. The validations help ensure that only high quality, accurate data is entered. The validations allow us to see if data is within expected ranges, if not then we can ask for evidence if required. Once the data has been submitted it then goes through a final verification process. The verification again ensures data is accurate. If anything seems erroneous then it can be clarified with the data collector or farmer
2. Recommendations-After the data has been verified it is then run through our calculation model and a report produced. The report benchmarks various KPIs against set averages or farm groups, as well as detailing the farms opportunities for efficiency and sustainability improvements
3. Implementation- The next phase is to implement our recommendations. This can be done in conjunction with Alltech or the farmer choosing to implement recommendations themselves
4. Re-assessment- After 12 months we will re-assess the farm and can vindicate and measure any changes that have happened over the last year
