It significantly enhances the grafting efficiency of hydrophobic drugs onto hyaluronic acid, reduces byproduct formation, and improves solubility. These hyaluronic acid conjugates, with targeted delivery and immune modulation properties, have been licensed and advanced to USFDA Phase II clinical trials, along with several preclinical drug and immune adjuvant developments.
