The Rainforest Alliance is a full member of the International Sustainability Standards Alliance (ISEAL), working towards sustainable development in business, agriculture, and forests. Designed to make responsible business the new normal.
The Rainforest Alliance established a certification system to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and communities, promote their human rights, and help them mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.
The Rainforest Alliance's sustainable agriculture standards are divided into two parts: "farm requirements" and "supply chain requirements".

Currently, the agricultural products that can be certified include vegetables, fruits, tea, cocoa, coffee, coconut, flowers, herbs, spices, nuts, herbal tea, etc.
In November 2022, Taiwan’s McDonald’s McCafé and Alishan Coffee Farm “YUYUPAS” will launch the new “Alishan Yunwu Coffee”. This is the first coffee farm in Taiwan to obtain the Rainforest Alliance certificate. Regarding Taiwanese coffee passing the Rainforest Alliance certification, the Ministry of Agriculture also expressed its recognition and gratitude to McDonald's.
