T-Skin is an advanced head sensing safety solution designed to improve safety in human-robot collaboration (HRC) environments. It covers the key parts of the robot arm or robot like a layered "skin solution". The sensing units on T-Skin can detect rapid changes. When a person or object comes into contact with the robot surface, the sensor will immediately trigger a safety stop signal.
The technology is actually applied to Taiwan's semiconductor production lines, improving the process efficiency by more than 80%, increasing the performance per square meter by 52%, and reducing the basic production line manpower by 61%. It can be widely used in various industrial fields that require human-robot collaboration.
Founded in 2017 as a startup spun off from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Mechavision leverages years of research in robotics to deliver world-leading robotic tactile technologies. The company continues to invest in sensor-related IoT and smart manufacturing applications. Robots are expected to be the most important products of the next 30 years, and the robotics industry is among the fastest-growing sectors. Mechavision’s technical team spent nearly a decade at ITRI developing robotic sensor modules, building a solid foundation of patented technologies and strong industry partnerships.
