• Technological Innovation – Mass production of 120–550 USRT high-efficiency centrifugal chillers/compressors using low-GWP (GWP=1) R1234ze refrigerant and magnetic bearings. System efficiency exceeds Taiwan’s Level 1 energy standards by 10%, with IPLV 25% above ASHRAE’s top benchmark. Operating noise is below 75 dB.
• Competitive or Intellectual Property Advantages – Proprietary high-efficiency aerodynamic components, permanent magnet motors, and heat exchangers.
• Important Achievements / Awards – Five commercial demonstration sites in Taiwan, applied in semiconductor manufacturing and central HVAC, achieving over 40% energy savings.
Industry Applicability:
Chillers are essential for building HVAC and industrial process cooling, accounting for over 50% of total central air-conditioning electricity use. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global cooling energy demand could triple by 2050. Adopting chillers with low-GWP (GWP=1) refrigerants and 10% higher efficiency than Taiwan’s Level 1 standard can reduce annual energy use by over 40% and cut carbon emissions by more than 45%, making it a key technology for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
