Ultrasound-induced Microbubble Cavitation in Endovascular Therapy for Heavily Calcified Lesions

Sonicballoon have developed an innovative ultrasound system for atherosclerosis. The first go-to-market product is a special designed balloon catheter with ultrasound transducer and microbubbles. With the precisely controlled of acoustic pressure, the inertial cavitation is induced and generate shockwave instantly. It can modify the structure of calcified inside the artery, which lower the inflation pressure of balloon catheter and the risk of balloon rupture in blood vessel. Feedback system will also be combined to provide more safe and smart solution in the future.
