Technology Introduction:
"The deep-sea environment is characterized by high pressure, low temperatures, and low organism density, which results in low concentrations of eDNA and makes deep-sea environmental DNA sampling and analysis extremely challenging. Currently, deep-sea biodiversity surveys still primarily rely on bottom trawling. This method severely damages fragile deep-sea habitats and causes irreversible impacts on deep-sea ecosystems.The """" Deep-Sea eDNA Sampling Module """" is Taiwan's first domestically developed equipment capable of in situ environmental DNA sampling in deep-sea environments. It operates at designated deep-sea locations and automatically performs sampling at preset times, achieving virtually """"zero disturbance"""" to benthic ecology."
