Advanced Solid-to-Solute Transformation of Biomass Waste for Multidimensional Applications
Technology Introduction:
This project advances sustainability through STS that converts insoluble biomass waste into DOM with solubility above 95% and stable aqueous performance. The material has been applied in hydrogels, coatings, wastewater treatment, building materials, CO2 capture, and agriculture. It strengthens composites, improves crop growth, and shows superior carbon uptake. The STS has been transferred to enterprises with collaborations underway, including cooperation with Kasetsart University in Thailand.
Industrial Applications:
Conventional R‑0120 waste treatment is costly and inefficient, limiting composite reinforcement and agricultural uptake. STS technology generates DOM with high solubility and molecular reactivity, strengthening composites, enhancing crop growth, and enabling efficient CO₂ capture under ambient conditions. This approach overturns the cost structure of high‑temperature hydrolysis, while collaborations and technology transfers highlight both material innovation and environmental value.
