Lightweight and high-performance aluminum alloy and composite technology for vehicles
Lightweight of automobiles gets energy saving and emission reduction. Aluminum alloys have characteristics of light weight and high thermal conductivity, the preferred materials for lightweight automobiles. However, traditional aluminum alloys are relatively soft. For example, aluminum wheels used in heavy-duty trucks, owing to high load wearing, their life tends to be lower. This technology develops a high-strength composite powder by mixing micro-nano ceramic particles with alloys, subsequently stengthening aluminum wheels through thermal spraying. This can extend the life of the thewheels from 100,000 kilometers to more than 400,000 kilometers, greatly improving their added value, also assisting manufacturers to expand their international markets.
