A low-cost process for production of pharmaceutical grade DHA and EPA ethyl ester

This technology is a low-cost process for continuous manufacture of DHA and EPA ethyl esters. It uses an immobilized lipase packed bed bioreactor to catalyze the DHA-EPA concentrate with ethyl ester for continuous production of DHA/EPA ethyl esters. The continuous production can reduce production costs and increase production yield. This technology can be used to produce pharmaceutical grade DHA and EPA ethyl ester.This technology is a low-cost process for producing DHA and EPA ethyl esters. It uses a packed bed bioreactor with immobilized lipase as a catalyst to esterification of DHA and EPA concentrates with ethyl acetate to obtain higher purity of DHA ethyl ester and EPA ethyl ester (>70%). This process uses continuous production that can reduce production cost and increase yield. This technology can be applied to produce pharmaceutical grade DHA and EPA ethyl ester. This technology is first reported for synthesizing DHA+EPA ethyl esters via lipase-catalyzed acidolysis of ethyl acetate with DHA+EPA concentrate.This technology is a low-cost process for continuous manufacture of DHA and EPA ethyl esters. This technology can be used to produce nutraceutical or pharmaceutical grade DHA and EPA ethyl ester.
