Intelligent monitoring and management of multi-functional microbial agents

● Summary:
By integration of professions including phytopathology, pesticides analysis, aquatic and livestock management, microbial fermentation, epidemiology, and artificial intelligence, our interdisciplinary team jointly have developed microbial products for multi-industry applications including crop health care, circular agriculture, livestock and aquaculture (Fig. 1). The intelligent monitoring models and management technology for evaluating the efficacy of microbial products are implemented to provide key time point and decision support for microbial products application, and in turns to enhance the application efficacy (Fig. 2). The developed microbial agents and technology would greatly reduce the use of chemical pesticides and antibiotics and enhance agricultural output value and market competitiveness.

● Innovations:
1. Our interdisciplinary team jointly have developed microbial products for multi-industry applications in crop health care, circular agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.
2. B. subtilis 151B1 and B. licheniformis EC3401 as feed additives can improve the growth of fishes and shrimps, enhance disease resistance, modulate intestinal microflora, improve water quality, and modulate macroalgae diversity in the farming water (Fig. 1).
3. Strains 151B1 and E3401 have ability to degrade chemical insecticides and fungicide, which can solve the problem of potential pesticide residues in recycling and application of agricultural by-product resources (Fig. 1).
4. The innovative technology for monitoring the efficacy and the optimal time of microbial agent application by artificial intelligence systems is developing (Fig. 2).

● Applications:
The microbial agents and application technology of Bacillus subtilis 151B1, Bacillus licheniformis E3401, and Bacillus coagulans BC1 could be used as biopesticides, biofertilizers, feed additives, for improving water quality in aquaculture, and for pesticide degradation. These beneficial microbial products could be applied in multi-industry including agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock, help expanding the market and enhancing the competiveness of the products (Fig. 1). The innovative technology for monitoring the efficacy and the optimal time for microbial agent application by artificial intelligence systems could be used as an aid for precise evaluation and decision-making support (Fig. 2).
