Platooning is a convoy of multiple autonomous vehicles operating in coordination through sensor fusion, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication systems, and advanced control technologies. The V2V communication system has a low latency of 0.12 seconds, allowing platooning to maintain an inter-vehicle distance of 11 meters at a speed of 60 km/h and 7 meters at a speed of 30 km/h. The V2I communication technology receiving real-time traffic light signals and timing information at the 17 intersections of Changhua Coastal Industry Park are seamlessly integrated with dynamic vehicle control, which optimizes travel speed and reduces transportation time by 10%. Furthermore, heterogeneous platoon control ensures that various types of vehicles for platooning management can be applied.
