Sustainable Carbon Reduction Forward-looking Technology for the Bicycle Industry
Taiwan, the world's second largest exporter of bicycle parts, with total manufacturing CO2 emission more than 520,000 tons per year, urgently needs to introduce CO2 reduction technology to maintain the competitiveness.
To provide the solution for the net zero and sustainable requirements of the bicycle industry, this technology platform targets bicycle frame materials, coating processes, tires, and other major carbon emissions. The advanced technologies like (T6-free) low emission aluminum alloy, high-performance recycled CFRP and CFRTP materials, environmental friendly low-temperature high performance powder coating, and highly compatible recycled rubber tire, targeting the major CO2 emission sources of bicycle production were developed. Currently, the introduction and verification of our techniques were cooperated with the key member of the Bicycling Alliance for Sustainability (BAS). It is expected that in the future the relevant supply chains will follow the lead.
