CH3OH as H2 carrier solves the risk of an unstable energy supply. CH3OH is used for H2 transportation and international trade to supply in demanding areas (Taiwan) with insufficient renewable energy, thus improving the stability and resilience of energy. Key technologies include CO2 hydrogenation, CH3OH reforming and CO2 recovery, and high-efficiency H2 storage and transport. We establish H2 storage and production chain to achieve energy security, international trade, and low-carbon goals.
