The Helium Purifier at NSRRC maintains high helium purity crucial for research. It has two stages: the first removes moisture at 80 K using a Vessel and Tube Heat Exchanger with a Crystal Filter, and the second uses carbon derived from coconut shells to eliminate nitrogen, oxygen, and oil contaminants. High-pressure helium passes through a Moisture Separator, heat exchangers, and a Charcoal Vessel in a closed-loop system, ensuring efficient purification.
