Selective breeding technology for rred tilapia <Oreochromis >sp. in Taiwan

The red tilapia originated from a mutant found in Tainan. Through selective breeding, a stable lineage was developed that can produce almost all-red offspring. Its red appearance and high market value, double that of black tilapia, make it a desirable strain. Our technology, which includes mass production and screening, can be transferred to producers, enabling them to efficiently produce and sell fingerling in both domestic and international markets.
