Coffee (Coffea spp.) is a perennial evergreen shrub native to tropical Africa and belongs to the family Rubiaceae. Arabica coffee (C. arabica), the main cultivar cultivated in Taiwan, is a self-pollinating crop. However, some varieties, such as Geisha, often exhibit cross-pollination, leading to genetic segregation and unstable flavor profiles. Currently, Taiwan still lacks an effective asexual propagation system for coffee, which limits the large-scale propagation and promotion of superior parent plants. Therefore, this technology aims to establish a cutting propagation technique for coffee to rapidly propagate seedlings with superior traits, thereby facilitating the sustainable development of Taiwan's specialty coffee industry.
