Build Trust in AI, Start with the Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Center(AIEC)
Technology Introduction:
To meet national and industrial needs for AI system evaluation, the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) established the Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Center (AIEC) in December 2023. Focusing on evaluation infrastructure and global alignment, AIEC aims to build Taiwan’s independent AI assessment system and internationally recognized testing frameworks.
Industry Applicability:
Taiwan is building a trusted AI evaluation framework that blends global standards (NIST, ISO) with local strengths like Traditional Chinese. The nation’s first AI testing lab and certification body will provide internationally recognized third-party reports for government and industry adoption. Initial focus is on five areas for language models—fairness, accuracy, reliability, privacy, and security—with expansion into image and multimodal AI to drive innovation with trust.
The Administration for Digital Industries, under the Ministry of Digital Affairs, has partnered with the National Institute of Cyber Security (NICS) and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to establish the Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Center (AIEC), using the development of Taiwan's domestic AI industry as its blueprint.
