Roselle BLACK CRYSTAL(‘Taitung NO.6‘) is crossbred with A123 line as female parent and A129 line as male parent. After the DUS trait test, it is in line with distinctness, uniformity, and stability, and was named in 2021, plant variety right was granted in 2022 (certificate number:A02915).The calyx of this variety is dark purple-red, and the upper side of the calyx is semi-opened. It has the characteristics of high yield, high anthocyanin content (30.6 mg/g DW), and consistent maturity. The new variety is suitable for one-time harvesting and has high anthocyanin content, which can be used as functional food raw materials to expand the high-value application of roselle, enhance the added value and promotes the diversified development of the industry.
