In the post-pandemic era, driven by the new lifestyle and the boom of the metaverse, the integration of virtual and real worlds and digital living has become the new norm. As a result, users are now craving a more comfortable visual experience. ITRI develops a full-color micro-LED display for AR smart glasses. micro-LED modules possess advantages such as low power consumption, high brightness, high resolution, compact size, and great compatibility. This breakthrough overcomes the limitations of existing optical systems, including insufficient brightness and indoor-only use. It also provides a higher level of immersion, transparency, and a wider field of view for visual experiences. Next, sensor functions and advanced optical engine technology will be adopted to create a new generation module which is perfect for long-term wear. This will elevate smart glasses from functional products to slim and stylish accessories.
