Since the concept of back contacted (BC) solar cells was proposed, it has become one of the popular research topics of solar energy due to its advantages brought by the excellent architecture properties. The earliest developed BC solar cells was called interdigitated back contact (IBC) cell. They refer to PN junction and metal electrodes are arranged on the rear side of cell in the shape of interdigitation. The front is completely free of the shielding of the metal electrodes. IBC solar cells with efficiency over 23% have also been reported. However, the cost of IBC solar cells is about twice that of industrial solar cells and the manufacturing process is complex and difficult to be accepted by industry. Here, we will present interdigitated back passivated contact (IBPC) solar cell, a new type of heterojunction solar cell with a rear passivated contact structure, which successfully introduced tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) technology to save process steps and cost. The photovoltaic properties of the prepared solar cell are measured under AM 1.5 G simulated light and the measured data are VOC = 687.3 mV, JSC = 40.08 mA/cm2, FF = 81.91%, and η = 22.52%.
