Development of innovative microbial fertilizer formulations for reducing heavy metal uptake and increasing yield in vegetables
This research selected the multifunctional microorganisms, Stenotrophomonas sp. (CC-1 and CC-2), exhibiting superior cadmium and copper adsorption capabilities, as well as the ability to solubilize tricalcium phosphate and hydrolyze cellulose, proteins, and xylan. These microorganisms were formulated into solid bacterial preparations and applied to various vegetables, effectively reducing cadmium and copper absorption while increasing crop yield. This approach can be implemented in farms with heavy metal contamination that falls below regulatory limits, thereby improving vegetable
yield and safety, as well as boosting farmer income and promoting ecological sustainability.
