Development of non-artificial equipment peeling flesh technology for pomelo crops
Manual peeling of pomelos is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and can lead to injuries for operators due to the corrosive nature of pomelo peel oil. If mechanization could replace manual labor, it would significantly improve the existing challenges. Therefore, we have developed a set of equipment and processing procedures for the peeling and flesh extraction of pomelos. After cleaning and removing surface dirt from the pomelos, the peel is air-dried. Subsequently, a pomelo peeling machine is used to remove most of the white membranes from the pomelo skin and flesh, reducing the probability of bitterness in the flesh caused by contact with the membranes. Finally, we use the pomelo flesh extraction device to gather the flesh. The flesh can be sterilized, packaged, and stored at low temperatures, making it convenient for subsequent processing and utilization.
