The modulation technology of Brewer's grain silage applied in feed for native chicken

The Brewer's grain refers to a by-product produced in the beer brewing process. It has good palatability and contains high protein, amino acids and minerals so that is very suitable for feeding animal. The Brewer's grain silage is prepared with ground corn, soybean meal and brewer's grain. The cost of the silage is NT$ 9.9 per kg (NT$ 15.0 at dry matter basis). The native chickens were fed with feedstuff that mixed 35% silage and 65% commercial feed from 9 weeks of age until slaughter. That will increase the growth performance by 7.8% and reduce feed costs by 18.1% throughout the raising period.
