The Integration Platform of High Impregnation Technology and Carbon Fiber Thermoplastic Composite processing Process

PIDC builds the complete of integration platform of thermoplastic composite processing process in Taiwan. In the past, advanced composite materials were mainly composed with carbon fiber and thermosetting resin. Low production efficiency and inability to recycle have always been the technical challenges that advanced composite technology needs to overcome. This technology platform develops a series of impregnation technologies and then develops high-performance thermoplastic composite, which improves the recycling applicability of advanced composites . Thermoplastic composite technology can make products with lightweight, high strength, high heat resistance and recycling. At the same time, a simple processing process was established to increase the production efficiency of advanced composites by more than 3 times. It can be widely used in high-end industries such as aerospace, national defense, and electric vehicles.

Plastics Industry Development Center

The Plastics Industry Development Center (PIDC), a non-profit organization in Taiwan, envisions becoming a globally recognized research and development service institute for plastics technology. With a long-term focus on global net-zero policies, PIDC is actively supporting Taiwan’s industries in promoting sustainable development. Its primary service sectors include medical devices, transportation equipment and components, food packaging, green energy technologies, smart manufacturing, and agriculture. In response to the global push for net-zero emissions and carbon neutrality, PIDC has aligned its operations with the principles of green and sustainable development. PIDC’s R&D efforts center around the GRASS materials strategy, which integrates five key value elements into plastic materials innovation, including Green Materials, Recycled Materials, Advanced Composites Materials, Smart Materials and Safe Plastics. Through this approach, PIDC aims to develop a new generation of high-value plastic materials and innovative applications, demonstrating strong performance in green and sustainable development.
