Jelly fig (Ficus awkeotsang Makino) is an indigenous species in Taiwan. We have developed the extraction technology for embryo cells of jelly fig. The solvent-free extract maintained the active compound and facilitated the high quality products. The function assay of embryo cell extract showed they have melanin-inhibition antioxidation and sunlight-aging resistance activities. Furthermore, the collagen formation, inflammation and wrinkle reduction of extract were also shown in cell and animal model. It is suggested that jelly fig extract is an effective nature material for skin-whiting and repairing. We have developed masks, jelly-masks, and skin-whiting essence of jelly fig.
