The process technology for using orange peel residue as a fermented feed ingredient in pig wet-feeding systems
This technology utilizes the rich cellulose, protein, carbohydrates, and bioactive compounds (such as polyphenols) found in orange peel residue. After being collected from fruit and vegetable processing facilities, the residue is crushed and anaerobically preserved. This fermented feed ingredient is then appropriately added to pig wet-feeding systems, allowing for the recycling and reuse of agricultural by-products to create a unique economic value.
To strengthen the commercialization and industrialization of agricultural research results, the Council of Agriculture (COA) completed the preparatory works and established Agricultural Technology Research Institute (ATRI) on January 1, 2014. Under the ATRI there are Animal Technology Research Center, Plant Technology Research Center, Aquatic Technology Research Center, Business Promotion Center, and Agricultural Policy Research Center respectively in charge of related affairs.
