is a predatory insect of Lepidopteran larvae, major pests of vegetables and cucurbits such as Oriental Leafworm Moth and Tomato Fruitworm. These larvae chew leaves, stems, and fruits, causing year-round crop losses. Using piercing-sucking mouthparts, injects venom to immobilize and feed on larvae. Advances in rearing techniques, including alternative food sources, have shortened rearing time by 80%, reduced labor costs, and enhanced female oviposition and egg quality, making it an effective natural enemy for sustainable pest control.

The Miaoli District Agricultural Research and Extension Station is a fourth-level agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of China, responsible for agricultural testing, application, and extension services in Miaoli County, as well as research in silkworm and bee breed improvement, propagation of genetic materials, and cultivation management techniques. Its Biological Control Research Center’s original Dahu Sericulture Research Station building complex was registered as a historical building of Miaoli County in 2017.
