The invention provides a perioral aerosol removal device (PARD) and its hanging element for dental aerosol mitigation during dental aerosol generating procedures (AGPs) such as ultrasonic scaling. The side opening formed on one side plate adjacent to the entrance will not only guide the aerosol airflow but also retract lip and cheek to extend the inspection filed for dentist. This device significantly mitigate more aerosols smaller than 4um in comparison with the portable extraoral dental vacuum (EDV).
